This is quite a rare coffee maker. Painted Atomic coffee makers were only produced during the 1970's and perhaps up until mid 1980's. They are far less common that the plain polished alloy machines. In addition the aint has often been badly damaged or worn. The machine on offer here is painted brown/orange- a classic 70's colour- and the paint is in good condition with just a little marking and scratching here and there. The machine has a Bon Trading label indicateing it was imported by Bon Trading into Australia in the 1970's. It is definitely a vintage machine, 100%, right down to the original seal in the group head. This was the exact package as the original owner purchased it: coffee machine, jug, water knob and two baskets.
We decided not to restore this machine at all as it was so original and complete: however we will include a brand new black water knob, head gasket and set of brass screw for the filter plate free of charge. That way if you want to use the machine you can fit a new seal and change the screws in the head. The original black knob is in good condition but the alloy thread has corroded a bit over time- and the new knob will be a perfect replacement. No parts have been changed or modified and it comes complete with small and large star pattern filter baskets and black knob. All the bakelite is in good condition. Cosmetically the machine shows signs of light use- the paint has worn a little in places- and this adds an organic charm I think. There is no damage or missing parts.

The machine was definitely made in the Original Robbiati Milan factory, when Robbiati himself was overseeing production. Therefore it has historical value for the collector. In addition the painted machines are harder to come by, so make a better long term investment. Today there are several players in the atomic coffee maker market- but no one produces painted machines. This is your chance to complete your collection.
