The unit is specifically designed for use with coffee syphons. The gas jets have two main settings: high and low. Set to high to quickly send the boiled water into the top chamber. Set to low for the duration of the brew. The burners have piezo electric ignition that works very well.
The body is made of stainless steel with brass and alloy gas fittings. The side panels are beveled glass. Very simple yet well made and elegant design. Ideal syphon bar for commercial use. In 2009 several cafes around Australia have installed these bars and so far the feedback has been amazing. In recent years there has been a lot of hype around the Haolgen syphon bars that popped up in Japan and the USA. In reality gas or halogen both achieve the same goal: heating the water. No gas fittings are included. The burners are specified for LPG gas. The unit should be fitted and tested by a qualified gas fitter. Can be used with regular BBQ type gas cylinders: a low pressure regulator must be fitted. Be sure to check that installation is compliant with local regulations.
