This is such a great looking Italian made Burr Grinder. "Quick Mill" is a well known Italian brand- they still make domestic appliances- including espresso machines. In the 60's and 70's they produced a stunning range of pastel coloured appliances of fine quality.
This grinder probably dates from the 70's. As you can see in the images: there is some light marking on the chrome, on the bakelite body and here and there consistent with its age and light use. However it is complete, beautiful, Italian made- and working well. It is a burr grinder with click stop adjustments. The grinding burrs are in good order showing a little wear- but grinding well- and the motor runs smoothly. Both glass chambers are in perfect order.
This grinder is on an entry level compared to modern semi professional Burr grinders. However it is miles ahead of the competition in terms of sheer class and elegance. It has a wonderful 1950's pop aesthetic and would look very fine in any Mid Century styled kitchen. The pastel mint green is soothing to the eye.
Not quite as smooth or precise as the top of the range models available today- never the less it works a lot better than many of the plastic entry level grinders. The motor runs smoothly and it can grind from very coarse to very fine. Nothing will improve the quality of your daily coffee more than freshly ground beans: this grinder would make a perfect compliment to the La Sorrentina Atomic machine- both in form and function.
This grinder is a 240 volt Italian model. It is fitted with an Italian style plug. An Australian plug can easily be fitted by any electrician- or a simple and inexpensive adapter will suffice.
This coffee grinder is vintage and has been used in the past: suitable for the collector- or lover of fine design.
