Rare Vintage ATOMIC COFFEE MACHINE Orange/Brown Model late 1970's?

Here is a brilliant vintage atomic coffee machine from the private Ikon Exports collection. This machine is an Italian made Atomic imported into Australia by the Bon Trading Co. It probably dates from the late 1970's or 80's when the painted machines were produced for the USA and Australian markets. Today painted atomics like this are not available new. Patented by Giordano Robbiati of Milan around 1947 this is an absolute modernist 'organic' design classic: and it also makes very good coffee! It is built to such a high standard that it will work for years and years with just a little maintenance every now and then- Atomic's are virtually unbreakable. They can be used on gas and electric stoves and are the ULTIMATE camping/caravaning espresso solution. The milk frother is very powerful and whips up frothy cappuccino in seconds. The Atomic on offer here is in very fine, complete condition - and is working 100% perfectly. As you can see in the images the painted orange/brown surface on this machine is in very fine condition. The paintwork is complete with just a little wear- there are a few marks here and there- especially where the jug sits- but overall we rate it as excellent. The Bon Trading ATOMIC label is complete and legible with only light marking. The jug and portafilter handle are in superb shape- very shiny- the Bakelite parts are fine- with no burns or cracks. It is rare to see one of these painted machines in such fine condition- the painted surface is more delicate than the traditional polished alloy. This machine has been cleaned and prepared this for use. It comes with a brand new food grade silicon seal in the head, original filter plate (but with new improved brass screws which won't rust) and a new Sorrentina TM brand Bakelite water/safety valve knob. The steam washers have been checked and lightly oiled, they are in perfect condition. There are 3 different coffee baskets included: two original vintage alloy star pattern filters (these are 100% Italian ones- slightly different than Sorrentina baskets) and one new large stainless steel basket (smaller holes- much better than the traditional baskets- highly recommended for Atomics). The original Italian made safety knob, seal and screws are included for the fastidious collector- you are getting an original machine- with ALL it's original parts (see image below). The original instruction manual is also included which still has its tiny sample of aged coffee! The manual is timeworn- and somewhat yellowed- but a fantastic piece of Atomic ephemera all the same.
