This coffee maker reeks of pure style and sophistication. It is also made of beutiful materials, the inner boiler and filter basket and screens are chromed brass, the body is chromed steel with bakelite fittings.
The condition of this coffee maker is absolutely superb. It shows virtually no signs of use. We plugged it in and tested it- running a water only brew. The machine performed perfectly and heated up quite quickly.
The coffee maker works works well, and is very clean inside and out. It comes with its original cable with a European plug and bakelite ceramic socket, all in very goo order and new looking. The bakelite lid knob, handle and feet are all excellent. The boiler and coffee filter is very clean. The seal in the lid is old- and a replacement may be necessary to use the machine with coffee. It didn’t leak in a test but with coffee in the machine there would be more pressure. The original seal looks OK- but has probably hardened with age.
A wonderful display, or collector piece reflecting elements of Art Deco, modernism 50’s Atomic Age embellishments. Superb design.
